Program RequirementsThe requirements to qualify for one of these paid to drive campaigns varies from company to company, but there are some general criteria which apply to most of them and you will find it difficult to even apply if you don't meet these.
You will have to be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license.
You will also need to provide proof of insurance for the vehicle that is going to be used.
Traffic violations will in most cases prohibit you from being considered. Some programs will let you apply if you have had one or two moving violation in the past couple of years, but not more than that. The truth is that even a single moving violation will place you farther down the list and make much more difficult to get a position. If you were an advertiser and you had a choice between two identical candidates, but one had no traffic tickets while the other one did, which one would you choose?
You will have to agree to have a Global Positioning System (GPS) installed in your car and leave it on. This is the way that the company tracks the number of miles you have driven. There will be a minimum number required (usually 800 to 1000 miles a month) and the contract can be voided if you don't drive the required number of miles each month.
Most companies won't let you pick the advertiser that will be displayed on your cas, but they will let you bow out if the advertiser goes against your moral values. For example, if the advertiser was promoting cigarettes, alcohol or sex.
